NautiSuite Privacy Statement

Version: 1.3.11 · August 2026

NautiSuite respects your privacy. The app is designed to keep most of your data on your own device. Where a feature needs us to process personal information, we only use what's needed to provide that feature.

1. Who we are

NautiSuite is published by NautiSuite. Questions about this statement or how your information is handled can be sent to privacy@nautisuite.app.

2. Information stored on your device

Most of what you enter into NautiSuite — your vessel profile and details, app settings, quiz scores and learning progress, document references, and custom alarm sounds — stays on your device. It's used only to run the app's features and personalise your experience.

3. Location

If you allow location access, NautiSuite uses it to power location-based features and show relevant information in the app. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.

4. Notifications and alerts

If you allow notifications, NautiSuite can send you alerts. To do this, we store a device notification identifier (generated by a third-party push notification service) along with the minimum device and account information needed to direct alerts correctly and confirm they were delivered. This identifier is never used for advertising, and we keep it only as long as needed to run, secure, and improve the alert service.

Some optional subscriber features may briefly process limited information to deliver alerts across multiple devices or through supported messaging services.

We can't guarantee alert delivery — it depends on things outside our control, like your connectivity, notification permissions, device settings, battery-saving modes, and platform or third-party service availability.

5. Third-party services

A few features rely on outside service providers:

  • A push notification service, to deliver alerts.
  • Google Play, to process purchases made on Android.
  • App Store, to process purchases made on iOS.
  • A subscription management service, to track your subscription status and entitlements. This provider receives an anonymous NautiSuite customer identifier and the purchase information needed to give you access to paid features — it never receives your card details from us.

We only share what each provider needs to do its job. NautiSuite does not use any of this for advertising or behavioural tracking.

6. Analytics

We collect a small amount of identifier-free, aggregated usage information to improve the app and understand which features people rely on — things like event type, app version, platform, general device-model family, and OS version. We never use this to build a profile of you, and it's never linked back to a person, account, device, or session.

We never include the following in this aggregate analytics:

  • Your name, email, or any NautiSuite/account ID.
  • Any device, session, notification, advertising, or purchase identifier — or your IP address.
  • Precise location, GPS coordinates, route history, home port, or tide-station details.
  • Anything you've typed in yourself: vessel or crew details, registration/licence/passport info, document references, Boat Log entries, feature requests, screenshots, or attachments.
  • Payment details, receipts, message content, error logs, or authentication data.

We use a fixed, limited set of approved analytics fields — nothing outside that list is collected. If you contact Support or choose to send a diagnostic report, that's handled separately: we'll always explain what it contains and give you the choice to cancel before it's sent. Diagnostic reports are never used for analytics, marketing, or profiling.

7. Settings Transfer

If you use Settings Transfer, a temporary copy of your settings is processed only to move them to your new device and is automatically deleted shortly afterwards.

8. Email address

If you choose to provide an email address, we may use it to:

  • Help you recover your account.
  • Notify you about features you have asked to hear about.
  • Display it as a contact detail on your profile.

We use your email address only for these purposes. You can update or delete it at any time using the app’s data deletion tools or by contacting privacy@nautisuite.app. Deletion is permanent.

If you request that your NautiSuite account is deleted, we use the email address linked to your account to verify the request and to send confirmation messages, including a deletion receipt and, where possible, a final confirmation once deletion is complete.

Your email address is used only to process your deletion request and is not included in the permanent deletion audit record.

9. Subscriber account data

If you subscribe to a paid plan, we keep the account information needed to provide it — an anonymous customer identifier, your entitlement level and subscription status, renewal/expiry dates, purchase identifiers, and records that help us prevent duplicate credits or resolve refunds and chargebacks.

If your subscription ends or you delete your account, this data is deleted or made permanently anonymous as soon as reasonably possible — unless we're required to keep it for legal reasons, to resolve a dispute, prevent fraud, or complete a transaction already underway.

10. Members Area (nautisuite.app)

What we collect when you register:

  • Your NautiSuite ID and email address, checked against your existing app account.
  • A hashed password (we never store your password as plain text).
  • Your IP address and login times, for security.

What we collect as you use it:

  • Support tickets, including any screenshots you choose to attach.
  • Satisfaction ratings (NPS scores).
  • Feature requests and votes.
  • A record of which alarm sounds you've downloaded.

What we use it for: logging you in securely, providing and improving Members Area services, responding to support requests, understanding satisfaction and feature demand, and preventing abuse.

How long we keep it:

  • Account data — for as long as your account is active.
  • Support tickets — up to 24 months after resolution.
  • Satisfaction ratings and feature votes — kept indefinitely, but only in anonymised, aggregated form.
  • On account deletion, all personally identifiable Members Area data is removed within 30 days.

Sharing: We don't sell or share Members Area data with third parties. Support tickets are only ever seen by authorised NautiSuite staff. Anonymised, aggregated satisfaction/feature data may be used in our own marketing materials.

Your rights: You can access, correct, or ask us to delete your Members Area data any time — contact support@nautisuite.app. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to data portability, and to complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO: ico.org.uk).

11. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as it's needed for the relevant service, to meet legal obligations, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our rights — then delete it within a reasonable period.

Deletion-request records. While a deletion request is pending, we retain the request, its verification status, and its scheduled date so that we can process or cancel it securely. After deletion is completed, we retain only a minimal pseudonymous record of the request for up to 24 months to demonstrate that it was processed, investigate a security or service dispute, and meet applicable legal obligations. This record does not contain your name, email address, NautiSuite ID, device token, payment details, or a usable user identifier. We then delete this minimal record unless a longer period is required by law.

12. Children's privacy

NautiSuite isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

13. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold. Data stored on your device may also benefit from your device's own security features. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure.

14. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, contact privacy@nautisuite.app. UK/EU users can also complain to their local data protection authority.

How to request deletion. You can request deletion of your NautiSuite account and associated cloud data in the NautiSuite mobile app at Account → Data → Delete My Data or online at https://nautisuite.app/delete-account/. For security, every request must be verified using the registered account email address. A verified request is scheduled for deletion 30 calendar days after confirmation. You may cancel it through the available verified app or online workflow before the scheduled deletion time. The Members Area may show the status of a deletion request. If you cannot access either route, contact privacy@nautisuite.app for support.

Local-device data. Some NautiSuite information is stored locally on your device. Deleting your account removes the associated cloud account data; it cannot remotely erase data from a device that is offline, uninstalled, or no longer under our control. We will provide clear in-app guidance for removing the local copy from a device you control.

15. Changes to this statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. The latest version is always available in the app.

16. Contact

Questions about this statement or your data: privacy@nautisuite.app.

17. Anonymous device identifier

If you use NautiSuite without a subscription, we may assign your device a random identifier — used only to manage your free access period and, if applicable, issue a one-time promotional code afterwards. It isn't linked to your name, email, or any other personal information.
